La forma en que se definen y gestionan el crimen y el castigo es fundamental para nuestro sentido compartido de humanidad. Y tanto la responsabilidad como la imparcialidad están en el centro de nuestras preocupaciones. Aunque el carácter distintivo de la relación de los escoceses con el crimen y su castigo está bien documentado, el objetivo del presente estudio es analizarlo como un aspecto de lo escocés.
