Summary

The book studies the forms of dependence among the Scythians during the archaic and classical era according to Herodotus, in particular in the I and IV books of the Histories. The father of history informs us about the traditions of the Scythians through pages of difficult interpretation and much debated by scholars. The author aims to propose a new interpretation of Scythian slave dynamics through the analysis of literary, epigraphic and archaeological sources.
