Généalogie de l’individualisme

This work intends to study the genealogy which links the different individualist theses and establish their logical continuity: each of these currents of thought arises from its predecessors and contributes to the birth of its successors. There are therefore logical and historical connections between them.

This genealogy shows how much modern thought is indebted to individualism. Nothing characterizes Modernity better than its individualism. Studying these different intellectual currents of individualism highlights how modern thought was formed, through a break with ancient and medieval thought, and helps us understand some of the social facts which are its concrete manifestation.
