This journal is simultaneously the bulletin of the IREM (Research Institute on the Teaching of Mathematics) of Besançon and a scientific journal aimed at a national and international public interested by research on the teaching of mathematics.

It is dedicated to publishing

— the articles of the IREM of Besançon and of the other IREM;

— the proceedings of conferences of the IREM;

— the articles of the teachers and researchers of the mathematics department of Besançon and of other places of research and of teaching of mathematics.

It is promoting interdisciplinarity and calls for the perspective of education sciences, history, sociology, anthropology, philosophy, physics, biology for keeping mathematics alive.

The variety of the public aimed for commits the journal to a particular ambition in making the published texts accessible while maintaining their scientific quality.

The journal is rooted in the schools and universities around Besançon. It is aimed at the national network of the IREM (Research Institutes on the Teaching of Mathematics) and at an international French-speaking public that is interested by research on the teaching of mathematics.
