Founded in Dole in 1423, and transferred to Besançon in 1691 by Louis XIV, the University of Franche-Comté is one of the oldest in France and Europe. The second volume of its rich history, from the Faure Law (1968) to 2023, the eve of its transformation into the Marie-et-Louis-Pasteur University in 2025, takes up the challenge of immediate history. The UFC has been able to adapt constantly: ministerial reforms, an explosion in enrolment, social unrest, quality of training and student life, professional integration, new buildings and campuses, laboratories promoting lively research that is disseminated to the general public, international openness... Some one hundred authors provide summaries, notes and boxes, amply illustrated, and share with you this wonderful collective adventure.
