- Summary
-
The contributions of this special issue seek to analyze and deconstruct the explicit or implicit linguistic processes of exclusion, insult and oppression exercised by different social groups (families, internet users, institutions, political groups) towards individuals who often embody a difference. Adopting different theoretical and methodological approaches, contributors investigate discursive manifestations of covert hate speech and strategies of counter-discourse to hate speech. Three articles explore covert hatred in political, institutional or media discourses (Sapio, Lorenzi-Bailly and Guellouz, Bouzereau); three others analyse counter-narratives and alternative discourses (Renaut & Ascone, Varga, Moses & Hugonnier).
