Born in 1937, René Godenne has devoted his life to short stories, whether bibliographic directories spanning several centuries or La Nouvelle en France. This collection of tributes to the friend who died in 2021 begins with more personal texts, where close and less close recount their meeting with the man who was sometimes called “the Abbé Pierre of the short story”. The second part brings together studies by academics who pay homage to him by explaining what they owe to his bibliographical research and by returning to some of his authors such as Arland, Mandiargues, Morand, or even Leïla Sebbar.
