The first volume (50/1) of the 50th issue of Semen recounts the thematic, disciplinary and epistemological path of the journal. Born as an editorial space for the GRELIS laboratory seminar works, then dominated by the relationship to literature, the journal Semen was founded in 1983 by Jean Peytard and Thomas Aron. Since then, it has transformed itself following institutional changes, research progress, disciplinary evolutions, the diversification of scientific objects, and finally the opening to interdisciplinarity, in relation to the Information and Communication Sciences. The 50/1 issue provide the authors an opportunity to recount this evolution..
