Studies on the history and archaeology of Lydia from the Early Lydian period to Late Antiquity

Lydia, entre la costa del Egeo y la meseta de Anatolia, asociada desde la antigüedad con Pactolo que llevaba el oro de Tmolos y con la riqueza de Creso, poblada por lidios y meonios, marcada por la presencia persa, griega, romana y luego bizantina, ha atraído la atención de los investigadores desde finales del siglo XVIII. Este libro tiene como objetivo ampliar la cronología de los estudios lidios desde el período protohistórico hasta el período bizantino temprano y reunir las contribuciones de investigadores y académicos internacionales en una amplia gama de disciplinas, historia, arqueología, epigrafía, numismática y desde diferentes perspectivas. Los temas incluyen sociedad, estructuras sociales, aspectos militares, economía, religión, artes, arquitectura y cultura material. Este enfoque diacrónico permite, en particular, cuestionar la permanencia y las rupturas entre los períodos helenístico, romano y bizantino y los que los precedieron.
